Application:
Measure the density of gypsum sludge coming off a clarifier at a chemical plant.

Customer Issue:
They have never put a density gauge under the clarifiers so Operations must take samples multiple times a day to get density. Taking samples once or twice a shift can lead to slow reactions if they have a density shift.

Our Solution:
We supplied a Ronan X96 density gauge with a low level source for the line coming off each clarifier. These sources do not count against on-site radioactivity for your license as they are under 1 mCi.

We came on site to do start-up/calibrate and show the staff how easy it is through push buttons or HART for future calibrations and PMs. This freed up Operations to handle other issues within the plant and allows them to know the density at all times.
