A Focus That Hasn’t Changed.
Ronan Measurements Division, now known as Ronan Engineering Company, located in Florence, Kentucky, was formed to address a growing market need for difficult process measurements using the nuclear technology in industrial plants worldwide. The company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of systems that utilize low-levels of isotopes to provide a range of liquids and solids measurements in a wide variety of processes. Ronan has introduced several technological innovations, which have transformed the market of non-contact radiometric measurement.
Ronan radiometric gauges mount externally and do not contact the process, avoiding many of the challenges associated with intrusive measurement technologies. They are well suited for high-temperature, viscous, non-conductive, hazardous or toxic materials, sealed vessels and pipes, and other applications where conventional measurement can be difficult or costly.
Our commitment to backward-compatible product design helps customers protect their investment in an installed base of thousands of systems. Experienced Applications Engineers, factory-certified Field Service Engineers and a worldwide representative network support customers from system design through long-term operation.
Ronan combines proven reliability, strong mechanical design and advanced electronics with domestic and international engineering and manufacturing capabilities. That allows us to provide both standard products and customized systems, backed by responsive service and a long-standing commitment to solving difficult measurement challenges.

Lower-Level Sources
Ronan’s RLL technology was recognized by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1999, helping advance the use of lower-activity radioactive sources for industrial measurement applications.
The technology can allow reliable measurement using lower source activity in appropriate applications, reducing the amount of radioactive material required.
Advancing Detector Technology
Ronan continues to develop detector technology designed to provide strong measurement performance and greater flexibility across radiometric applications.
The newest generation of Ronan scintillation detector technology, introduced in 2025, builds on decades of detector expertise while giving customers another path for upgrading and optimizing existing systems.
