Electronics That Turn Detector Signals Into Process Measurements

Ronan electronics receive the signal generated by the detector, process and filter that signal, and convert it into a usable measurement for the control system. From level and density to weight, flow and interface, the electronics are configured around the measurement and the requirements of the application.

Built Around the Measurement

Ronan electronics are designed to work as part of a complete radiometric measurement system. The electronics platform is selected and configured around the detector, measurement type, required outputs, installation environment and system complexity.

Because Ronan specializes exclusively in radiometric measurement, its electronics are designed to support a wide range of detector configurations and process applications rather than forcing every system into a fixed control package.

Electronics Platforms

Ronan offers electronics platforms that can support both straightforward measurements and more complex process requirements, with flexible mounting, communication and output options.

Built-In Intelligence for Reliable Measurement

Ronan electronics do more than convert a detector signal into a measurement. Processing functions help compensate for changing process conditions, stabilize the measurement and simplify calibration and system operation.

Depending on the platform and application, available functions can include:

    • Dynamic signal filtering and tracking
    • Automatic source-decay compensation
    • Auto calibration
    • Radiation discrimination
    • Process-condition compensation
    • Configurable alarms and outputs
    • Data logging and event recording

Electronics for Multiple Measurement Applications

Ronan electronics are used across a wide range of radiometric measurement applications, allowing common technology and system architecture to support different process requirements.

    • Continuous level
    • Point level
    • Interface level
    • Density
    • Weight
    • Mass flow

Backward-Compatible Upgrade Options

In appropriate applications, Ronan electronics can provide a path for upgrading an existing radiometric measurement system without replacing every component. Backward-compatible configurations can allow customers to modernize the electronics while retaining existing detectors, sources or other system components where they remain suitable for service.
This can reduce the scope of an upgrade while extending the service life of an installed Ronan measurement system.

Engineered as Part of the Complete Measurement System

The electronics are only one part of the measurement. Ronan considers the source, source holder, detector, beam geometry, process conditions and electronics together to create a complete system engineered around the application.
